What's for breakfast?

This is my favorite breakfast. We eat it a lot.

Baked Oatmeal

3 cups oatmeal
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil [you could use applesauce]
1 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar [brown or white]
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla [I always thought it said Tbsp.]
1/2 tsp. salt [I never remember this]

Mix all the dry ingredients. Add the wet. Mix it up and pour into greased 9x9 pan. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes

Sometimes we bake blackberries, apples, or blueberries in it. You can pour milk or yogurt over it. Top with fruit if it's plain.

What kind of smoothies do you guys make?

Mine consist of:
ice
milk or cream
whatever fruit I have on hand
a couple spoon fulls of any kind of juice concentrate
and some sugar

Tyler asked me today if we still had "that blog for all the sisters" I was so confused... "what blog is there for ALL of us" Ooooohhh yeah!!! Gab Giggle & Grow. Totally forgot about it. Have any of you? Because there hasn't been a posting since March. Wow! Anyway....

Had fun gardening as a family today. Even though the kids can seem like a handful, I love having them around. As I'm digging a hole for some cucumbers I all of a sudden hear over my shoulder, "Mmm Hmm... Peeeerrfect" I stop digging, pause a second and then turn around to find Ethan the "professional whole digger" critiquing my work. I say "thanks" and he just smiles really big and says, "yep!" I couldn't help but bust up laughing. Thanks Ethan for making sure we do it right. 

Toria was watching some weird show on PBS. Something about Colonial women. When I walked in this is what the lady was saying.

"There is much much work to do and indeed a woman's work is never done and some of it can feel like drudgery but there will be only drudgery if you do not find what is enjoyable in it. That is the way to enjoy life. Find what is pleasurable in that what you have to do."

Colonial or 21st Century still applies.
